First Responders Weekend at multiple Bayside Church Campuses

Granite Bay, Folsom, Lincoln & Sacramento - May 18 & 19, 2013

World Change Kid Katie volunteered at the SAFELY OUT™ booth during Bayside First Responder Weekend in Granite Bay, CA honoring firefighters, police, EMTs and more, helping pass out SAFELY OUT™ Kits to all attendees. The kit provided everyone a chance to help out First Responders and prepare their families for a natural or manmade disaster. There were emergency response vehicles, interactive areas, and many educational opportunities to learn more about what one can do to prepare for disasters. The community both young and old as well as first responders appreciated the project.

 

     

     

 

"Take Our Daughters and Sons To Work" Day at Cal EMA Headquarters

Sacramento, CA - April 25, 2013

Children ages 4 to 18 stopped by the SAFELY OUT™ Project booth at California Emergency Management Agency (Cal EMA) headquarters during their day of discovery, learning about the invaluable work being done to protect the people of California during disasters. Each child received a SAFELY OUT™ evacuation kit and was welcomed to ask questions about the project. The children understood why the SAFELY OUT™ was created and said they would give their SAFELY OUT™ Kit to a grandparent or someone with disabilities they knew. The event had all types of emergency response vehicles and some assistant rescue dogs.

 

     

 

John Ehrhardt Elementary School Preparedness Event

Elk Grove, CA - February 15, 2013

World Change Kids Kellon and Sienna help present the SAFELY OUT™ project with Citizen Voice President Gary Dietrich to children during an assembly at John Ehrhardt Elementary School in Elk Grove, CA. The presentation focused on the importance of being prepared in case a natural or manmade disaster and to make sure to look after those in the community who cannot evacuate by themselves. Students were given SAFELY OUT™ Kits to share with a neighbor, friend or grandparent ensuring they will be safe during a disaster. California Emergency Management was a partner in the presentation and awarded the school with a safety certificate.

 

 

Flood Preparedness Event with SacCounty Department of Water Resources

Sacramento, CA - October 20, 2012

During election season World Change Kids Kellon and Sienna helped educate the students at Golden Hills School in Eldorado Hills, CA alongside Citizen Voice President Gary Dietrich during an assembly about the importance of voting, being active in the community and knowing what is going on in the world. Kellon and Sienna made sure each student received a brochure about World Change Kids.

 

      

      

 

Nonpartisan Election Project Presentation at Golden Hills School

El Dorado Hills, CA - October 19, 2012

During election season World Change Kids Kellon and Sienna helped educate the students at Golden Hills School in Eldorado Hills alongside Citizen Voice President Gary Dietrich holding an assembly about the importance of politics, being active in the community and knowing what is going on in the world. Kellon and Sienna were there for any questions kids had and made sure each student received a brochure about World Change Kids.

 

      

      

 

Public Safety Appreciation Barbecue

Downtown Los Angeles - September 28, 2012

In the heart of downtown Los Angeles, World Change Kids Kellon and Sienna passed out SAFELY OUT™ Kits to a large crowd that attended the Public Safety Barbecue, an event focused on thanking first responders who keep the community safe. The afternoon was very busy with long lines at the SAFELY OUT™ booth. Kellon and Sienna made sure every person received an SAFELY OUT™ evacuation kit. They enjoyed spending time with project partners Red Cross and Target in neighboring booths.
